Women Empowerment is one of the important activities run by Gramodaya in its working area to ensure sustainable Development. The mother of any child is needed to be empowered properly, so that in all circumstances for all the time she can look after the child and her/his development. Keeping this view Gramodaya, since initiation of project focuses on women empowerment through SHG to make them economically, socially and psychologically strong who can participate in decision making process and advocate their rights in society. The strategy of SHG is FORMING, STORMING and NORMING and The activities of the programme are Formation of SHG, Saving and credit, Inter loalning, Up gradation and reformation of Self Help Groups, cluster formation, Cluster meetings, SHG/ Group Accountant’s Training, Liaising Meeting of SHGs with PRI members and Bankers, Bank linkages.
Campaigning against Child Marriage:
In Rajasthan rural out skirts, there was a social stigma of child marriages prevailing in society. GSS took this issue on very serious note and started campaigning in different villages of Rajasthan. This involved motivating 1000 PRI members by taking oath of getting indulge neither in child marriage nor letting it happen in their villages.
