Networking and advocacy efforts:- Advocacy for development issues in association with community, stakeholders and civil society organization to promote accountability of government duty bearers is another strategy of GSS working. GSS has formed a network of civil society organization for advocacy and has been organizing different advocacy program/activities from time to time at village/district level in association with community through lobbying and capacity building.
Legal Literacy: Legal literacy is also one of the new initiatives taken by Gramodaya for raising awareness among the rural mass about the legal provisions on different aspects .The need of legal literacy among the community was felt during the intervention and at initial level it was planned with the organizational staff. The objective of the legal literacy program is generation of awareness; dissemination of information regarding legal rights and procedures involved. A common villager of the area should know basic legal rights and also procedures and channels for ensuring her / his rights. Thus specifically the objective of the program is enhancement of the common villagers regarding – Legal rights, Legal procedures and channels, Duties and responsibilities (what is not lawful), Juvenile Justice etc.
Public-hearing (Jansunvai) program:- GSS has organizing “Jansunvai” program time to time, the Objective of the program was to fill the gap between community and government duty bearers and promoting accountability of community representatives through right awareness, information capacity building and collaborated advocacy efforts by community based organizations. In this program, government departments (education, health, labour SSA and other) and Community representatives including MLA and panchayat samiti Pradhan and other stake holder, service provider and accountable person participate in this progrogramme. During the program village representatives and CBO members have presented the situations of their villages and submitted application and memorandum regarding to community representatives and departments.
